Ο ευαγγελιστής Ιωάννης απεικονίζεται καθιστός να κρατάει στο δεξί χέρι γραφίδα και να συγγράφει το ευαγγέλιο. Στο άνω μέρος εικονίζεται μέσα σε νεφέλες ο Θείος Οφθαλμός, ενώ δίπλα στον άγιο απεικονίζεται ο αετός, που αποτελεί το σύμβολο του ευαγγελιστή.
